I have had several conversations recently about prayer.  Why do we pray when God already knows our desires?  How do we know God answers prayers?  Is God listening to me?  These are all questions we ask at different times through our lives.  Even though God knows our needs and our desires, the Bible still encourages us to pray.  In Luke 11 Jesus teaches us to be persistent in our prayers, and to ask for what we NEED that day.  What father would give their son a snake if he asks for a fish?

Sometimes it is hard to know if God answers our prayers.  But God does always answer our prayers.  Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes it is no, and sometimes His answer is to wait.  It is often hard for us to hear “No” or “Wait” and we believe God hasn’t heard us.  God may answer no because He knows what is best for us, or because we are not sincere in our walk or our trust in Him.  Our prayers may not always be what is best.  It is often hard to know the will of God, but sometimes we can discern it through His word.  For example, the Bible tells us not to worry.  If we ask Jesus to help us not to worry, we can rest assured that that is within His will for our lives.  God may still answer “wait” because His timing is perfect, and He knows our needs and the timing of our needs.

You can rest assured that God hears our prayers and answers them according to our persistence and His knowledge of what is best for us.  So remember to pray regularly and please include Cape Christian Academy in your prayers!

Very much enjoyed the first blog from CCA's ... The Cougar Corner! Loved the topic of "prayer" very much as that is our way of talking to the Lord and seeking his advice and approval along with daily guidance. Thank you for always finding ways to stay close to your students, and the their families. Happy this can reach others as well. CCA has made a huge difference in our lives and I can't praise our Lord enough for that wonderful gift and the loving staff that are with our students. God is surely working in CCA !!
